Hi Nad,

Government schools in Malaysian only accept Malaysian students. If you are interested in sending your children to further their education in Malaysia, you may consider private or international school.

Schooling: Dear Jinny, I have send my daughter (will be 3 years old in Dec) to pre school. She cried everyday when she arrive the school. She keep on saying that she doesnt want to go to school. Is it too early for me to send her to school?? or should I wait until 4 years old then only send her to school. Kindly advise. TQ

Mrs. Ho,

If a child has been primarily raised at home, and is not used to being in an institutional setting. The first day of school can be difficult. Planning and openness play a part in making this transition smooth.

The first consideration should be the age of the child. 3 years old and toilet trained is usually the basic requirements for a preschool. Whether your child is ready at this point should be considered fully. Not all children develop at the same rate, and putting a child in a situation she/he is not ready for could be damaging.

For IB qualification, you can consider sending your son to Sekolah Sri KDU (www.srikdu.edu.my) or International School of Kuala Lumpur (www.iskl.edu.my)
